How to Increase Revenue in a Barbershop in 2026

In this article
A barbershop can grow revenue by filling available appointments or offering useful additional services. Start with your own records: completed visits, average spend and unfilled hours.
The five approaches below can be configured in Meety. Choose one and record when you change it. Your own results will show whether it brings more completed visits or a larger contribution towards costs.
1. Offer gift cards
A gift card lets a client pay for someone else's future visit. Set its value, validity and eligible services. Check both purchase and redemption using the gift card guide.
A gift card payment is not automatically pure profit. You still need to provide the service and cover its costs. Track both sales and redemptions, and avoid counting the same payment again when the visit happens.

2. Calculate a visit pack's price
A visit pack can offer a better price when a client buys several visits. You receive payment in advance. It does not guarantee that every visit will be redeemed or that the client will attend on a particular schedule.
Before launch, calculate the discounted price per visit, delivery costs and the capacity needed to fulfil every pack sold. Use the membership card guide to check visit counts, validity and redemption.

3. Consider deposits for longer services
If an appointment reserves a staff member for a longer period, you can require a deposit or full payment for that service. Meety supports fixed and percentage deposits. See the online payments guide.
Choose the amount based on your services and costs. Explain changes, cancellations and refunds before payment. Payment alone guarantees neither attendance nor a right to retain a deposit.
Also track whether clients complete booking and payment. More prepaid bookings alongside fewer completed visits need closer investigation; a lower no-show rate alone does not explain the overall result.

4. Offer a clear loyalty reward
Choose a reward whose cost does not consume the value of subsequent visits. Depending on your settings, this can be a service, a percentage discount or a custom reward.
Meety uses stamps and rewards for completed visits. Check earning and redemption conditions in the loyalty program guide. Evaluate returning clients alongside the cost of rewards.

5. Offer a relevant additional service
For example, offer a beard trim alongside a haircut if you provide it and have time available. Configure add-ons in service settings. Before confirming, the client should understand their selections, total price and appointment duration.
Assess an add-on beyond its selling price. Deduct materials and account for staff time. A larger booking can still be less attractive if it requires much more time.
Worked add-on example
These are fictional inputs, not an industry average or a Meety customer result:
| Monthly item | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Completed haircuts | 200 × €25 | €5,000 |
| Purchased additional services | 40 × €5 | €200 |
| Add-on materials | 40 × €2 | €80 |
| Add-on contribution before labor and other costs | €200 − €80 | €120 |
Labor, rent, payment processing and other expenses still need to be accounted for. This calculation does not establish that add-ons will produce the same growth in your business.
What to track after a change
Compare equal periods and record completed visits, average spend, occupied hours, offer costs and refunds. For gift cards and visit packs, distinguish money received from services redeemed.
We recommend Meety if you want bookings, payments and client communication together. Start with one offer and test the full purchase as a client. If missed appointments are your main concern, use the missed-appointment guide.
