Birthday
Message a client before their birthday. Save the day and month on their profile, choose how many days ahead to send, and Meety does the rest.
Birthday is an automatic campaign. You save a client's birthday, choose how many days before it the message should go out, and Meety sends one email or SMS at the time you pick. You can follow who got the message, who opened it and who booked.
Unlike custom campaigns, which you send once to clients you pick, Birthday keeps running until you pause it.
Save the birthday
Open the client and set the day and month under Birthday. The year is optional and is not used to decide when the message goes out. You can also import it. In your own CSV the column is birthday, as 15.03 or 15.03.1992. A Reservio export already has this column, as a day and month. An empty cell leaves a birthday you already saved.
A client with no birthday saved never gets this message.
How it works
- Days before – from 0 to 30. 0 means on the birthday itself. The default is 7, so the client still has time to book.
- Send time – once a day, at the time you pick, in your business's time zone.
- Content – the same email and SMS editor as custom campaigns, with a ready-made message you can edit. A booking button is on by default. A promo code is optional.
- Results – every client who gets the message appears on the Birthday page, with the send date, the channel, and whether they opened it, clicked and booked.
Each client gets one message per birthday. Next year they can get it again.
A birthday saved as 29 February is sent on 28 February in a year that is not a leap year.
Setting it up
- Go to Marketing -> Campaigns and open Birthday.
- Click Edit.
- In When to send, set the days before and the send time.
- In Content, choose Email, SMS, or Email & SMS, and edit the text.
- Use Send Test Email to check the email in your own inbox.
- Click Save. Settings are kept while the campaign is paused, so you can prepare it and turn it on later.
Turning it on and off
Use the Active switch at the top of the Birthday page. On a phone, it is in the menu behind the three dots.
If you turn it on after today's send time, the first messages go out tomorrow at your send time.
Turning it off stops further messages. The history and your settings stay.
Who gets the message
A client gets it when all of these are true:
- the birthday on their profile is the day you are sending for;
- they agreed to marketing;
- they are not blocked or deleted;
- they have an email or a phone number for the channel you chose;
- they have not already received this year's message.
Adding a booking link or a promo
The default message already has a booking button. Button Link is set to Reservation Page.
To include a promo code:
- In the email, turn on Add booking link.
- Set Button Link to Reservation Page with Promotion.
- Pick a promotion. Only active promotions that are enabled for campaigns are listed.
The button then opens your booking page with the code filled in, and {{promoCode}} shows the code in the email or SMS. If the button is not set to Reservation Page with Promotion, {{promoCode}} stays empty. More about promotions is in Promotions.
Limits
Birthday messages share the monthly campaign limit with custom campaigns and win-back: 5,000 emails and 5,000 SMS per business. Birthday is part of Campaigns, available from the Solo plan. More in Plan and subscription.
